College Board APSI Materials
In order to guarantee your College Board APSI materials, registrations must be received four weeks prior to the course start date.
Course Description
This workshop will focus on the new AP course materials provided by the College Board in August 2019 and how they can be integrated effectively into AP Microeconomics courses. The content of the AP Microeconomics course and exam, as well as approaches to teaching the course content and preparing students for success on the AP Microeconomics exam, will also be emphasized. The workshop will be interactive and cover the topics participants identify as important. Content appropriate for both new and experienced teachers and for microeconomics and macroeconomics will be included based on the needs of participants. This session will focus on pedagogy and skills that apply to the microeconomics course.

How Online Workshops Will Work
No one wants to sit and watch a 32-hour long webinar, so we are working closely with our consultants to develop a modified course schedule that allows you greater flexibility, but still getting the knowledge and skills you need.
Live-online instruction will be conducted through Zoom while asynchronous learning assignments will be managed through Canvas, the University’s learning management system (LMS).

Meet the Instructor
Dr. Margaret Ray
Dr. Margaret Ray is the Waple Professor of Economics and Chair of the Economics Department at the University of Mary Washington, and the Director of the UMW Center for Economic Education. She was previously an Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. In addition, she is certified to teach K-12 Social Studies and has a Masters of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She won the CEE Excellence in Economic Education national award for the teaching of economics for her work on the principles of economics course. She has been involved with K-12, AP, and college level economics for over 20 years, in a variety of capacities including:
