Instructor: Bob Mahler
Bob Mahler, PMP is a project and risk management specialist. Currently serving as the Director of Business Development for Velociteach, Mahler consults and finds solutions for individuals and companies looking to increase their knowledge of project management. He served as a substantial contributor to the development of the Project Management Body of Knowledge, 6th Edition for Chapter 11, Risk Management. He has taught a range of project management-centric classes and has become a highly-coveted speaker in project management circles.
Before his current role, Mahler served in the U.S. Army for 11 years and was awarded a Bronze Star for Valor. After leaving the service, he began a multi-faceted career in telecommunications working with Nextel Partners, Alpine Power Systems, Nextel and, then, the new Sprint-Nextel.
Mahler has served as a consultant for TSA to develop risk management response recommendations for a variety of disasters. He has also managed and supported project teams for the Department of Homeland Security, and was selected to represent DHS for the National Communications Sector Risk Assessment in 2010.
In addition, Mahler’s risk management experience has aided in the response to California wild fires, the Virginia Tech Shooting, Greensburg KS Tornado, and a wide range of Federal Law Enforcement training needs.
