Prospective MPA Students

Program continuity during the COVID-19 pandemic

If you are considering applying to the UTC MPA program, but you’re not sure if now is a good time, please know that we are well prepared to continue training public administration professionals, even during these uncertain times.

While our standard curriculum is a combination of online, face-to-face, and hybrid (meaning some of both) courses, we can move all our courses to an entirely online format as the need arises. The UTC MPA program has a long history of online instruction, and all our faculty members have had extensive training in online teaching methods. Our online and hybrid courses have all achieved Quality Matters certification, which requires meeting high standards for online course design as evaluated through a rigorous external peer review process.

So, while we’re hoping for the best, we’re prepared to continue offering a high-quality educational experience for our students, even if that requires temporarily moving to an all-online program. Now, perhaps more than ever, our society needs well-trained, ethical, effective, efficient professionals in our public and nonprofit agencies. You need not be deterred by current circumstances from pursuing a public service career. If we can answer any questions you may have, please do not hesitate to email the program coordinator, Dr. Horne, at [email protected].
