University Photography
The University photographer produces images for the web, print and marketing materials at the direction of the division of Communications and Marketing. Highest priority goes to events that involve the entire University, events hosted by the chancellor's office, and newsworthy events that involve the entire University or community.
University Photography: Fall 2020 Health and Safety Protocols
The photographer will maintain proper social distancing and/or wear a face mask during photo shoots. Photo shoots will take place outside, when possible. The photographer will not show digital previews on the back of the camera to the subject under any circumstances.
Headshots will be taken outdoors and by appointment only. If headshots are needed for multiple members of a team, a block of time may be reserved to photograph team members in sequence, but each team member must maintain social distance while waiting. You will receive a small selection of edited photos after your photo shoot. Please send your choice to the individual who maintains your web page or has other need for the photo. Then, please email the photographer the file number of your selection so that your preferred photo can be archived. Student headshots will be made only for University use.
Portraits for marketing or University use will be made by appointment. Photos will be taken outdoors when possible. Portraits of one individual may be taken indoors unmasked only if extreme social distancing is possible, and if the face mask is removed only for the duration of the photo shoot. Portraits of two or more people together in the photos will be considered as a case-by-case situation.
University-sponsored events of importance to the entire University may be photographed as long as it is possible to maintain social distancing between the photographer and subjects. The photographer and all subjects, per University rules, will wear face masks.
Group shots will be photographed in limited instances. Groups of 10 or fewer may be photographed outdoors, with appropriate social distancing considerations in mind.
Classroom or lab photos will be scheduled upon request. The University photographer is interested in documenting your classroom activities. Per University rules, all parties will remain masked for photos, and social distancing will be practiced.
