Clements Success

Taylor chose success

Taylor Clements knows that success takes teamwork, and she’s happy with the players on her team at UTC. A sorority member and orientation leader, Clements is also dedicated to her studies in business. She’s impressed with the UTC Gary W. Rollins College of Business’s AACSB accreditation because she knows most business programs haven’t earned the distinction. “I have become friends with the most well-rounded and diverse group of people. At UTC, you go to school where a whole team of faculty and staff members have your back and want to help you succeed.”

Henegar Development

Cody chose development

Cody Henegar was a little nervous about starting college. Coming from a home-school background, he knew finding the right fit was critical. A business major, Henegar says UTC is the perfect campus for his needs. He’s very active in campus organizations, his fraternity, and the Finance Department’s SMILE Fund. “Being a school of only 11,000 students and me having been home schooled, UTC felt like a place where I could grow on a personal level. It was the best fit for me.”

Hutchins Scholar Athlete

Luke chose scholar athlete

Luke chose UTC because it gave him the opportunity to be a scholar and an athlete. He is on the Mocs Football team, saying, “One of the best experiences I've had is being a part of winning the Socon championship in football.” Luke is majoring in mechanical engineering. He advises current high school seniors considering colleges to “honestly think about where you want to start a life, and think if you would like to live in the city that school is in. I chose UTC because I couldn't see myself living anywhere too far outside of the Chattanooga area in the future.”

Yanagida Leadership

Chantz chose leadership

Chantz chose UTC to lead the field of nuclear engineering. As an engineering major, Chantz plans to work on optimizing nuclear power plants for more efficient and safe energy. “I loved the idea of being able to pursue my goals and being able to serve my community at the same time.” Chantz wants incoming freshmen to consider UTC because, “Chattanooga provides a rare opportunity for students to be able to pursue their degree while establishing their presence in the local job market. Also, the dorms are bigger than most other colleges around the country."
