- green|spaces is a non-profit organization devoted to the sustainability of the city of Chattanooga. Their mission is to "advance the sustainability of living, working, and building in Chattanooga and the surrounding region." - Recyclemania is a non-profit organization partnered with the EPA to challenge universities across the United States to increase the rates of recycling by the student body.
- TDEC (Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation) is the governing faction of environmental stewardship for the state of Tennessee, including oversight for archaeology, energy, natural areas, remediation, sustainable practices, state parks, and water. Their homepage features all things environment for the state of Tennessee.
- Did you know that the state of Tennessee has an entire manual for sustainable design practices? It was specifically created for the University of Tennessee school system, along with the Real Property Administration (RPA) and the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), to act "as a minimum standard and guideline for designers to insure that the principles of good sustainable design and construction practices are being implemented on State of Tennessee projects."
