Wolf Trap
An arts integrated early learning program of the Arts-Based Collaborative.
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga - Wolf Trap is the first university-named Affiliate Program of the nationally renown Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning through the Arts. UTC-Wolf Trap serves grades Pre-K- 1st by partnering a Wolf Trap Teaching Artist with a classroom teacher that co-facilitate arts integrated instruction targeting literacy and social emotional learning needs. Each Wolf Trap Classroom Residency consists of 16-sessions that include:
- 1 classroom observation where the Wolf Trap Teaching Artist meets the students and gets a sense of the learning environment and classroom space.
- 4 planning sessions between the Wolf Trap Teaching Artist and the classroom teacher to customize a residency that supports students' needs.
- 11 contact sessions where the Wolf Trap Teaching Artist engages performing arts elements from music, dance, drama, puppetry, and/or storytelling, while mentoring the classroom teacher on integrating arts-based strategies on their own.

Professional Learning in Arts Integration
The Wolf Trap Teaching Artist builds lasting relationships with teachers and supports each early childhood educator by co-facilitating arts integrated lessons with their students.
Literacy and Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
Young learners deepen literacy and social emotional learning skills and knowledge through bringing stories to life, supporting each other, and celebrating their creative choices.
Joyful and Memorable Experiences
Early childhood educators and students experience joyful, active learning and create long lasting memories.
