"Faculty Fictions" Book Club:  Talent

Juliet Lapidos’s recent novel, Talent, tells the story of Anna Brisker, a twenty-nine-year-old graduate student in English at Collegiate University who breathes new life into her research by investigating the mysteriously embargoed writings of the reclusive Frederick Langley (a J.D. Salinger figure). But is Anna exploiting Langley’s niece for her academic gain? Lapidos’s novel explores the academe as a place of ambition, inspiration, relationship, and betrayal. Come prepared to discuss Lapidos’s humorous, reflective, and unsettling novel. (We will devote this one session to this work.)

The first two staff or faculty members to register will receive this novel for free!
